What will be different from the test environment

The test environment accepts any certificate chain that verifies — there is no trust list configured behind it. Production will validate an issuer's signing certificate chain against a real trust list (e.g. an eIDAS LOTL or ARF LoTE) before trusting it, the way x5c-based authentication is designed to work end to end — see the API reference for the assertion format itself, which does not change between environments.

In the meantime

Integrate and validate against the test environment — the API is the same one production will run.
